My name is Bogdan Dumitrica and I am a contemporary artist that lives and works in Los Angeles.
For the past few years I have been working on large scale series of oil paintings on paper that are instilled with symbols taken from nature while exploring present issues as in the series “Everybody Has the Right to Wear a Mask”. The music of the modern American composer John Adams is the source of inspiration for series of paintings such as “Fearful Symmetries” and “El Dorado”.
I have received an MFA in painting in 2000 from Cal State Los Angeles. My works have been exhibited in solo shows and group shows nationally as well as internationally. Some of ceramic works were shown at the international biennales of ceramic in Cairo, Egypt and Ichon, South Korea. Many of the paintings are in private collections in United States and Europe.
